MFB firefighters have located a deceased person following a house fire in Bundoora this morning.

Crews were called to the address in Gordon St about 7.30am following multiple Triple Zero (000) calls.

On arrival, they found the single storey house ablaze.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the burning building to search for the two elderly occupants who were unaccounted for.

Sadly, they located the body of a deceased person inside the home.

Enquiries are being made to locate the second occupant who is believed to live at the address.

The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes and crews were able to stop it from spreading to neighbouring properties.
