Doncaster unit fire

Firefighters made quick work of a fire which ripped through a Doncaster unit last night.

MFB and CFA crews were called to the Lawford Street address about 9.45pm after reports of smoke and flames coming from the property.

Firefighters quickly gained the upper hand and the fire was declared under control within 15 minutes.

Luckily, no one was inside the unit at the time.

The incident is believed to be suspicious and Victoria Police will investigate.
