Firefighters halt spread of fire in Mount Waverley

Firefighters were on scene within six minutes after a house fire in Mount Waverley this morning.

Crews were called to the Armstrong Street home at 7.17am and on arrival found a 12 square single storey weatherboard house with the front bedroom and roof space involved in fire,

Firefighters in breathing apparatus conducted an internal attack of the fire, this quick action contained the damage to the initially effected areas of the structure.

Three occupants self-evacuated prior to MFB arrival, no injuries have been reported

At this early stage of the incident no cause has been determined.

The fire was declared under control in 30 minutes.

Police and Ambulance are on scene assisting the MFB.

Fire crews will be in attendance for the next few hours.
