Garage fire in Ashwood

Firefighters have made quick work to extinguish a fire which took hold of garage in Ashwood overnight.

Crews were called to the home in Mulgrave Street at 2:40am and arrived to flames issuing from the attached garage.

Firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus entered the garage and commenced an interior attack on the blaze and managed to stop the fire from spreading to the rest of the home. 

The fire was declared under control within 15 minutes.

Six occupants of the home had self-evacuated prior to the brigade's arrival. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.

At this stage, the cause of the fire has not been determined.
