HAZMAT incident in Mount Waverley

Firefighters were called to Gilby Rd at 11:38am this morning.

Specialist HAZMAT and Breathing Apparatus crews are currently attending to a chemical spill of approximately 10 litres. At this stage the chemical is unknown.

Around 60 people have been evacuated from the area, with six assessed and cleared by ambulance crews.

Victoria Police and MFB's Scientific Advisor are also in attendance.

Crews will remain on scene for some time.
