Hampton East fire quickly under control

Firefighters made quick work of a fire which ripped through a Hampton East home last night.

Crews were called to the Tarwin Avenue address about 11.30pm after smoke was spotted billowing from the house.

Firefighters conducted a quick search of the property and ascertained that no one was inside.

The fire was under control within about 30 minutes.

The blaze is not being treated as suspicious.
