A Maribyrnong home has been destroyed by fire this evening.

Crews were called to the Cedar Ave home just before 7pm.

On arrival they found the double storey, brick house full involved in flames and threatening the neighbouring properties due to their close proximity.

All occupants have been accounted for and are safe.

MFB firefighters have done an amazing job in protecting the neighbouring properties. A cause has not been determined at this early stage.

A Community Advice message was issued due to the smoke.
