Laverton North recycling plant fire brought under control in challenging conditions

Crews responded to a fire at a Doherty's Rd recycling plant fire at 5:24pm this evening.

Approximately 50 firefighters and 15 appliances battled extreme heat to contain the fire to the rear of the site.

The blaze was brought under control at 6:05pm. There were no injuries.

Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and other emergency services assisted on scene.

The cause of the fire will be investigated.
