The quick work of firefighters stopped a carport fire from spreading to neighbouring properties in Meadow Heights early this morning.

Crews were called to the property on Ruby Court at 8:24am after a Triple Zero caller reported seeing flames and smoke.

The semi enclosed carport was fully involved when crews arrived and was threatening the home. MFB firefighters were able to isolate the blaze and bring it under control in less than 20 minutes after arrival..

The occupants self-evacuated and there are no injuries.

MFB fire investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the fire.
