Ringwood home damaged in accidental blaze

Thirty firefighters have battled a house fire in Ringwood this afternoon.

Crews were called to the Tooronga Road home shortly after 3pm

The rear portion of a house, measuring 12 by 15 metres was fully alight when crews arrived.

A neighbouring property was under threat, however great work by the first arriving crews contained the fire and prevented it from spreading to the adjoining property.

The fire took 20 minutes to control.

Thankfully all residents had evacuated prior to the brigade’s arrival.

The cause of the fire was accidental. Crews will be on scene for some time.

Breathing apparatus is in use.
