Suspicious fire at Coburg Chicken Shop

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, MFB firefighters were called to a building fire on Sydney Road, Coburg.

Two people were reportedly spotted running from the premises before crews arrived on scene shortly after 3am.

Approximately 12 firefighters from Preston, Brunswick, and Pascoe Vale Fire Stations donned breathing apparatus and worked hard to contain the blaze in just 11 minutes.

They managed to contain the fire to the ground floor of the building, which is home to a chicken shop.

The blaze is believed to be suspicious, and has been handed over to Victoria Police for further investigation.
