Suspicious fire at vacant house in Reservoir

MFB firefighters have spent the early hours of this morning battling a suspicious house fire in Reservoir.

Crews were called to the vacant house in Albert Street at 4.20am and arrived in six minutes to find flames issuing from the rear of the property.
Firefighters attacked the fire from the back of the house while other crew members entered the burning building to search for occupants. They managed to get the blaze under control within 22 minutes.
Crews remained on scene overnight to ensure there was no re-ignition.
The site has been handed to Victoria Police for investigation.
