Suspicious house fire in Heathmont

MFB and CFA firefighters made quick work to extinguish a house fire that broke out in Heathmont.

A Triple Zero (000) caller raised the alarm at 3:06am after seeing flames and smoke coming from the home on Leoni Ave. Initial crews arrived on scene in six minutes to find the single story weather board home well alight and flames coming out of the roof space.

More than 20 firefighters in breathing apparatus attacked the blaze and prevented it from spreading to nearby properties

The fire was under control in 22 minutes and there were no reports of injuries.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and Victoria Police will be investigating.
