Suspicious house fire in Laverton

Firefighters have extinguished suspicious a fire which engulfed a Laverton house this afternoon.

Crews were called to the address in Ulm Street just after 1pm and arrived to find the rear of the property ablaze.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly attacked the fire and managed to get it under control within 30 minutes.

MFB were assisted by one CFA crew on scene.

Victoria Police is investigating the incident.
