06 Jul 2018
MFB crews were called to a single-storey unit on Woods St at 1:03am this morning.

Firefighters arrived within six minutes to find the brick veneer unit fully involved in fire.

The sole male occupant had self-evacuated safely, but his pet dog remains unaccounted for.

The blaze was brought under control in 30 minutes, with firefighters remaining on scene overnight to maintain fire duties.

The unit and its contents were severely damaged, requiring the occupant to seek alternative accommodation.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and Victoria Police will investigate.
