Three people escape Bentleigh East garage fire

MFB crews received multiple calls about a garage fire in Bentleigh East this evening.

Initial calls indicated the garage was well alight and threatening houses and as a result extra appliances were despatched. 

On arrival crews found a garage, measuring 3 x 4 metres, totally involved in fire. 

The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes. 

At this early stage it is unclear what caused the fire. 

Two people suffered smoke inhalation while a third person suffered burns to their hands. 

Ambulance Victoria treated all three and two were taken to hospital for further treatment. 

Victoria Police also assisted on scene.
