Two-storey house fire in Gladstone Park under control

MFB crews were called to a two-storey house fire in Galway Grove, Gladstone Park at 11:42am.

Firefighters arrived to find the home well alight. Crews wearing Breathing Apparatus were able to quickly bring the fire under control.

The blaze caused extensive damage to the house and adjoining premises, and produced a large amount of smoke.

Two local schools were contacted advising staff and students to remain inside until the smoke clears. Community members are advised to avoid the area if possible.

The fire was declared under control at 12:36pm however crews will remain on scene for some time.

MFB Fire Investigators will investigate the cause of the fire.
