West Footscray house fire under control

Quick work by MFB firefighters has seen a house fire in West Footscray brought under control in just five minutes.

Crews were called to the fire on Geelong Road shortly after 5pm this evening. 

Multiple calls were received for the blaze and firefighters arrived within five minutes to find a brick veneer and weatherboard single storey house well alight.

The quick work of crews meant the fire was brought under control within five minutes of their arrival. 

At this stage the fire has been deemed suspicious and police have been notified.
