Mill Park house fire

back to list
08 Sep 2010
A Mill Park home will probably have to be demolished after it was extensively damaged by fire earlier this afternoon.

No one was home at the time of the fire so no injuries were recorded. When MFB firefighters arrived on scene, the fire was through the roof with smoke and flames also coming out of the windows. The fire has been deemed to be of a suspicious nature and the Vicpol Arson Squad will investigate.

The blaze in the single storey, three bedroom brick veneer house took thirty minutes to bring under control. Both MFB and CFA crews conducted an internal search for occupants, of which there were none but, then had to withdraw to the outside of the premise due to the likelihood of the roof collapsing.
