12 Oct 2018
Firefighters have made quick work of a fire which broke out at a Moonee Ponds home this afternoon.

Crews were called to the Wilson Street address just before 3.30pm and arrived to be confronted by flames burning through the roof and thick black smoke.

The blaze was threatening to spread to neighbouring properties and firefighters acted quickly to protect these homes.

It took 20 firefighters about 40 minutes to get the fire under control.

Luckily, no one was home at the time.

MFB's Fire Investigation unit will investigate the cause of the incident.
