A single storey Braybrook house was severely damaged by fire early this morning.

Fire crews arrived on the scene shortly after 2am  to find the weatherboard building fully involved in flames.  Buildings either side of the house were initially threatened by the flames and heat howver MFB crews managed to stop the spread of the fire.

Eighteen firefighters wearing breathing apparatus took approximately 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.   The house was reportedly expected to be demolished and is believed to be vacant.    The cause of the fire has been deemed to be suspicious and police will be investigating.
