31 Jan 2019
A new house under construction in Keilor East has gone up in flames.

MFB firefighters were altered to the blaze just after midday. Initial crews arrived at the property on Knoll Pl in five minutes and found the two story house fully alight and producing a significant amount of smoke.

Despite some challenge with water access, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in 30 minutes.

The fire was isolated to the one property and there are no reported injuries.

A community warning has been issued due to the amount of smoke in the area. Members of the community are asked to monitor conditions and keep the area clear for emergency services to respond.

The cause of the blaze is unknown at this stage.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were also in attendance.
