09 Mar 2017
Trains on the Upfield line were suspended as MFB firefighters battled a grassfire in Parkville last night.

The fire began behind the railway line in Park Street about 11.15pm and quickly raced up an embankment, threatening a machinery shed.

Trains were stopped for a short time to allow firefighters access to the blaze.
Crews managed to get the incident under control in under 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire will be investigated.
