MFB and CFA crews worked quickly to bring this suspicious blaze under control

More than 50 triple zero calls were received this afternoon for a fire in an abandoned pool shop. MFB's response to the fire, which started at 4.05pm, was quickly upgraded to six firefighting appliances, including one from Bayswater CFA.
The building was fully alight when crews arrived and the roof collapsed due to the intensity of the fire.
Firefighters donned breathing apparatus to attack the fire due to asbestos being detected in the building.
Sixteen minutes of aggressive firefighting  brought the fire under control.  The fire has been deemed suspicious, with a small fire being reported in the same building yesterday.
