Residents flee Bulleen unit fire

The cause of the blaze has not been identified.

Residents of a Bulleen unit had to evacuate after a fire tore through their home this evening.

Firefighters were called to the Willow Bend home at 6.14pm after smoke was seen issuing from the single storey brick unit. 

On arrival they found the unit quite substantially involved with the fire extending into the roof space.  All occupants had evacuated. 

Crews in breathing apparatus did an aggressive attack on the fire bringing it under control in 40 minutes.

A cause has not been determined at this early stage.
