Police are investigating after a suspicious fire this afternoon.

A Ringwood home has been destroyed in a suspicious fire this afternoon.
MFB firefighters were called to the property on the corner of Maroondah Hwy and Oliver Street at 5.17pm.
 On arrival they found the rear of the single-storey home was well alight, and had spread into the roof.
The fire was brought under control at 5.50pm and the cause has been deemed suspicious.
The fire was latest in a string of fires in the area and MFB Commander Bruce Pickthall has urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
