20 Aug 2015
Several triple zero calls were received for a fire in a single storey shop at 800 Plenty Rd, Reservoir

MFB received the first call to this fire at 3.54am and, due to the number of triple zero calls, quickly upgraded the response to six appliances.

MFB crews reported smoke showing while on route to the fire and when they arrived found the 30m x 40m building well alight.

Plenty Road was closed to cars and trams as firefighters sourced water from a number of nearby hydrants.

The fire was declared under control after 20 minutes with crews remaining on scene mopping up and extinguishing hotspots.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and Victoria Police is investigating.
