St Albans house fire

Firefighters have battled a house fire which broke out at St Albans overnight.

Crews were called to the address in Manfred Avenue just after 1.30am following multiple Triple Zero (000) calls.

Firefighters arrived on scene in about six minutes and arrived the rear of the weatherboard home  ablaze, with the fire threatening a neighbouring house.

Crews conducted a search of the property to ensure no one was inside.

The fire was under control in a little over an hour.

Fire Investigators have investigated and the cause of the fire has been determined as an electrical issue.

Victoria Police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
