Sunshine North bungalow destroyed in blaze

MFB firefighters were called to Sunshine North this morning for a fire in a bungalow at the rear of a house.

Crews arrived on scene shortly after 5am and found the bungalow fully involved in fire and severely damaged.

The fire was contained and did not spread to any other buildings. It was deemed under control within 10 minutes.

Asbestos was found at the scene and precautions were taken to protect fire fighters and the public.

Three older adults were known to be at home at the time and were not injured.

The cost of the damage is estimated to be as high as $100,000.

The cause of the fire will be investigated in day light hours by Police and MFB investigators.
