Sunshine North home damaged by overnight blaze

The cause of a Sunshine North blaze will be investigated this morning.

Firefighters were called to the Braim Street property at 1.18am.

MFB crews arrived on scene to find a fire in the rear of the house that had spread into the roof space.

There was nobody was home at the time of the fire.

It took approximately 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Because of the age of the house precautions were taken in case there was asbestos present.  The damage is estimated to be approximately $100,000.

The MFB Fire Investigation Unit will be investigating the cause of the fire in daylight hours.
