Suspicious Broadmeadows house fire under control

MFB firefighters have quickly extinguished a house fire in Broadmeadows, bringing one resident to safety.

Approximately 30 firefighters responded to a Widford Street address, after a Triple Zero (000) caller reported seeing smoke.

Wearing Breathing Apparatus, MFB crews quickly entered the double storey home to conduct a search for occupants.

Firefighters rescued one person from the building, who was released into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics for treatment.

The fire was brought under control five minutes after MFB crews arrived at the scene.

At this stage the fire is being treated as suspicious, and Victoria Police will investigate.
