Suspicious St Albans blaze under investigation

Firfighters battled a suspicious fire at St Albans on Monday afternoon.

Crews were called to the Rosslare Parade home yesterday at 4.20pm.

The fire involved a single storey brick veneer house which was well alight when firefighters arrived.

The fire was contained to the rear of the house and roof space. The house was believed to be unoccupied at the time of the fire.

The fire took twenty minutes to contain and has been deemed suspicious.

Breathing apparatus was in use.

Damage is believed to be around $50,000.
