back to list
19 May 2015
Firefighters are in attendance at a single storey, brick and weatherboard, house fire in Northcote.

Crews were called to the Simpson Street property at about 6.38am after a neighbour sited smoke.

The fire involved approximately two thirds at the rear of the premises and the roof space was totally involved.  It took 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The house is unoccupied, however there was concern that there could be squatters inside.

A thorough internal search was conducted, during firefighting operations, and it was confirmed that there were no occupants.

The fire has been deemed suspicious so police will be investigating.
