Suspicious blaze in Ringwood East

A Ringwood East home has been badly damaged by fire.

MFB fire crewes were called to the Alexandra Road property at 7:03pm on Tuesday June 11 and found the relatively new unit totally involved in fire.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus searched the unit as it was feared that a person was unaccounted for.

No persons were found in the unit the owner returned home soon after the search had been completed.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and police are investigating

Breathing apparatus was used and damage is believed to be around $200,000.

Eight appliances and 25 firefighters attended the incident.
