Suspicious fire at Kealba Medical Centre

A medical centre in Kealba has been extensively damaged by fire.

At about 1.30am on Saturday September 7 several calls were received for the incident at Kealba Media Centre on Valewood Road.

On arrival, firefighters were confronted with a one and two storey Medical Centre totally involved by fire.

Both the building and contents have been extensively damaged by fire with a part of the second floor in danger of collapse.

Crews had the fire under control in 20 minutes.

Breathing apparatus was in operation.

Approximate damage: $400,000.

The fire has been deemed to be of a suspicious nature and police are investigating.

Seven appliances and 18 firefighters were in attendance.
