Suspicious fire at Montmorency Secondary College

Crews worked quickly to contain the fire to one classroom

Fire crews were attending a car fire on Para Rd in Montmorency when they were alerted by police at 1:57am of a possible fire at the Montmorency Secondary College.

Crews were sent to the school to investigate and discovered that a building 15mx30m, comprising of brick and steel construction, was on fire.

Additional appliances were called to the scene and crews were quick to contain the fire to one classroom in the building, which has sustained further heat and smoke damage.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and is being investigated by Victoria Police forensic team.
