Suspicious fire at Preston bike shop to be investigated

A Preston bike shop has been damaged in a suspicious fire early this morning.

Firefighters were called to AvantiPlus on High Street about 4.50am. MFB received several calls for a bicycle shop fire including the initial call from the occupant who evacuated safely.

The building is approximately 20 by 30 metres with buildings either side.

Firefighters worked to protect these buildings as well as attacking the fire inside the building.

Damage to property is not known at this stage.

The fire was declared under control in around 55 minutes.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and police are investigating.
