Police will investigate an early morning fire at a factory in Sunshine North.

Firefighters have battled an early morning blaze at a Sunshine North automotive factory.

Crews were called to the Maida Avenue property just before 6.30am after a neighbour was woken by loud explosions.

When the first appliances arrived there was smoke and flames issuing from the factory. Extra firefighting appliances were dispatched to assist.

The fire was contained to the 10m x 40m factory although there was concern for an adjoining factory on one side.

Aggressive internal firefighting attack by MFB Firefighters in Breathing Apparatus held the fire to the original building, an automotive business.

The fire was declared Under Control after 39 minutes.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and will be investigated by Victoria Police.
