Suspicious fire at home under construction - Preston

Firefighters have spent the night battling a suspicious house fire in Preston.

Crews were called to the address in Malcolm St about 10.45pm and arrived to find the two storey house under construction in flames.

The roof had collapsed.

Firefighters fought to protect neighbouring properties and managed to get the fire under control within an hour. 

They remained on scene throughout the night to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

The incident is being treated as suspicious and Victoria Police is investigating.
