Suspicious fire at vacant Heatherton house

MFB firefighters have extinguished a suspicious fire which ripped through a vacant house in Heatherton this in the early hours of this morning.

Crews were called to the address in Farm Road shortly before 2am and arrived to find the weatherboard house ablaze.

The property backed onto bushland and a golf course and firefighters worked hard to stop the blaze from spreading, getting it under control in under 45 minutes.

Police will investigate the incident.
