MFB firefighters are on scene in Cremorne after a fire broke out near the Nylex building this evening.

Crews were called to the factory at Cremorne Street after flames were spotted about 8.30pm.

The first appliances arrived within six minutes and agressive firefighting tactics meant that firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 30 minutes.

Crews were able to stop the fire from spreading to neighbouring buildings.

At this stage the blaze is being treated as suspicious and Victoria Police is investigating.
