A garage in Lincoln St has been completely destroyed after a fire broke out on Saturday night.

MFB Firefighters were alerted to the blaze just after 10pm after multiple callers sighted flames and smoke and rang Triple Zero (000)

Crews arrived on scene in less than five minutes to find a double-car garage engulfed in flames and threatening multiple houses.

Firefighters used hose lines to stop the fire from spreading and then entered the burning structure donned in breathing apparatus to get to the seat of the fire.

The fire was declared under control at 10:46pm.

Firefighters determined the cause of the blaze was suspicious in nature and have handed the scene over to Victoria Police for further investigation.
