Suspicious house fire in Surrey Hills

MFB crews are currently on scene at a suspicious house fire in Surrey Hills.

Firefighters were called to the address on Whitehorse Road just before 10.30am, following a Triple Zero (000) call and arrived to find smoke drifting from the tiled roof.

Firefighters were able to work quickly to contain the fire to the two back rooms and roof area, but the remainder of the house was impacted by smoke.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and Victoria Police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
