Suspicious morning blaze in Deer Park

MFB firefighters have extinguished a suspicious fire which took hold of a house in Deer Park early this morning.

Crews were called to the property on Newbury Street shortly after 3am and arrived to find the house fully alight and the roof partially collapsed.

Police on scene evacuated neighbouring homes as a precaution.

Thanks to the quick work of crews the fire was brought under control in 20 minutes.

The scene has been handed over to Victoria Police for further investigation
