Unit fire Murray Rd, Preston

MFB firefighters received a call for a fire in a unit in a two-storey block of eight units at 7.36am on Saturday 25 April 2015.

There were initial concerns for a resident who was unaccounted for.  Proceeding crews upgraded the response to the call due to the large amount of smoke visible while on their way to the call.

The fire was declared Under control after 21 minutes and the missing resident was accounted for.  MFB crews donned breathing apparatus while attacking the fire. At this stage the cause hasn’t been determined.

Victoria Police assisted on scene with traffic control.
