Warehouse fire in Moorabbin

MFB firefighters were called this morning to a warehouse emitting large amounts of smoke.

Time: 04:06 hours     
Call Number 4839

Address: Chesterville Road, Moorabbin.

On arrival, they found a brick single storey electrical goods retailer full of smoke and numerous fires within it.

The front of the property was currently under construction, whilst the rear was being used as a warehouse full of goods.

MFB firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the premises to further investigate and extinguish. The fire took 50 minutes to bring under control.

The internal structure, including offices, and storage area walls have been destroyed.  The goods stored, included computers, printers and commercial electrical products,  have all been severely damage.

Police are on scene and the fire has been deemed of a suspicious nature.

MFB will remain on scene throughout the morning extinguishing hotspots and ventilating the building
