West Footscray house fire 2010

Fire involved a two storey brick house of approximately 45 squares in the roof at the rear of the single storey extension of the premises.

TIME: 2103 hrs CALL No.: 7671

The 15x10m section of the roof area including roof timbers and insulation has been extensively damaged by fire. The fitted smoke alarms alerted the occupants to the fire and they have evacuated the premises without injury. A portion of the remainder of the premises has been damaged by heat, smoke and water.

Under control in 9 minutes. Breathing apparatus in operation. Fire duty in place.

MFB Fire Investigation Unit will attend during daylight hours to establish a cause.
