Winter Fire Safety Campaign Launch

back to list
01 Jun 2011
MFB and CFA would like to invite you to the launch of this year’s Winter Fire Safety Campaign, to be held at City Square in Melbourne’s CBD at 11am on Wednesday 1 June.

We need you to come down and help us form the Home Fire Wardens Human 100, to mark the start of our 100 days of winter campaign.

We will also be conducting hands-on kitchen fire demonstrations, where you can learn how to use a fire blanket to put out a small kitchen fire, under the guidance of our expert firefighters.

And a free sausage sizzle is sure to be a warmer on our first day of winter.

The launch coincides with the start of winter, the busiest time of year for Victoria’s fire fighters. It will kick-start our 100 days of winter campaign which will remind the community that everyone has a role to play in home fire safety.

Please join us, MFB Chief Officer Shane Wright, CFA Deputy Chief Officer Geoff Conway and Fire Services Commissioner Craig Lapsley, to help ensure Victorians keep fire out of their homes this winter.
