30 Apr 2017
A woman has been taken to hospital after a balcony collapsed during a housewarming party in South Yarra last night.

The woman was on the third storey balcony on Toorak Road when it collapsed and she fell about 11.15pm.
Her fall was partially broken by trees, which may have saved her from more critical injuries.
Firefighters and paramedics worked side by side to rescue the injured woman from the rubble.
Crews then made the scene safe and sealed off the entrance to the balcony.
The local council has been informed and a building surveyed will assess the balcony's structural integrity.
