Woman trapped in bed by fallen tree

MFB crews from Ringwood & the MFB Rescue crew from Nunawading were called to a home where a tree had fallen on it. The tree caused the roof tiles and timbers to fall on the bed trapping the woman under the plaster and rubble.

He husband suffered injuries but was not trapped. There were four persons in the home at the time, the female, her husband and two children. Ambulance crews were able to access the patient whilst she was still on the bed and it took some 30 mins to release her. Whilst first indications are she suffered no major injuries she was transported to Maroondah Hospital with her husband.

The SES will remain to remove the tree and tidy up the site, Police remain in charge and the MFB was on scene for approx 1 hr.
